Today, European leaders and the Canadian Prime Minister convened in the United Kingdom to reaffirm their unwavering support for Ukraine in its efforts to halt Russian aggression. The high-level meeting, titled “Securing Our Future,” concluded with a unified commitment from all participants to stand firmly behind Ukraine.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, addressing the press after the conference, declared, “We are prepared to back this commitment with boots on the ground and planes in the sky.” He emphasized the gravity of the situation and the collective resolve to support Ukraine’s defense.
Prime Minister Starmer also highlighted a significant aspect of the agreement: Ukraine will have access to £1.6 billion in UK export finance, enabling the procurement of over 5,000 air defense missiles. This deal not only bolsters Ukraine’s defensive capabilities but also promises to create jobs in the UK’s defense sector, with payments being processed in Belfast. “This agreement will not only strengthen Ukraine’s security but also support our brilliant defense industry, creating jobs and driving growth,” Starmer added.
The meeting underscored the international community’s determination to stand united against aggression and to ensure a secure future for Ukraine and its allies.
