Sunday, March 09, 2025, Mark Carney was chosen as a new party leader. Mark got 86.9% of ballots casted, 131,674 votes. Throughout the campaign he was focusing to maintain the unity in the country rather than attacking his competitors and that’s what the members of the party liked and that’s why he was so successful. He is now an unelected Prime Minister awaiting governor general to arrange to administer the oath. After that perhaps before the parliament convenes he would trigger an election. He wouldn’t wait for a vote of no confidence for sure.
