The Trudeau Government did not engage in hyperbole. After introducing the carbon tax, they enacted a series of supplementary regulations. These measures encompassed restrictions on the transportation of fossil fuels along the western coastline, while allowing it on the eastern shore. Additionally, a fresh and rigorous process was instituted for approving significant infrastructure projects, resulting in significant obstacles to the construction of new pipelines, though it’s worth noting that the Supreme Court recently overturned several of these regulations. Furthermore, the government issued a mandate dictating that all vehicles sold in Canada must be electric by 2035, and the list of such regulatory actions appears extensive and ongoing.
